PRO-MUSKINGUM:

PRO-Muskingum is a group of community members and organizations whose vision is that “in 2016, Muskingum County will be a community that is attractive to families and business because it is a place where people work closely together to build a better future”.

PRO-Muskingum’s mission is to bring together organizations and individuals to enhance the quality of life in our communities. Key initiatives of PRO-Muskingum are to strengthen families, develop community leaders, promote a love for life-long learning, develop youth assets, and cultivate communication, collaboration and cooperation.

CELEBRATE THE BICENTENNIAL & YOUTH SERVICE

Zanesville, Ohio.  Zanesville and Muskingum County’s Bicentennial celebration will include special recognition of the outstanding achievements of our area’s youth. Nominations are being accepted for individual young people and youth groups who have demonstrated courage, compassion, and/or service in their schools, neighborhoods, and/or communities. PRO-Muskingum’s Teen Connections Committee is presenting this year’s “Celebrate Youth Service Awards” to honor Muskingum County youth who give to their communities through unselfish volunteer efforts.

Any community member, agency, business or organization may nominate as many individual young people or youth groups as they feel deserving. Nominees should meet these requirements:

Ø      Be Muskingum County youth 22 years of age and younger;

Ø      Volunteering or achievements have happened within the last 12 months;

Ø      Through their volunteer efforts, he/she/they have made a contribution to others, the community or the environment;

Ø      He/She/They have demonstrated one or more of the following: courage, compassion, and/or service.

Award categories are: 12 years & under; 13-17 years; 18-22 years; Youth Group; and Mayor’s Award. Winners in each category will receive trophies and scholarships or savings bonds AND be special guests in the Bicentennial Parade. All nominees will receive a Certificate of Recognition to be presented during the Awards & Recognition Ceremony at

Nominations must be received at the PRO-Muskingum office, 526 Putnam Avenue by 4 PM August 22, 2003.
